Week of April 12th, 2021
Artist’s Notes: Looking back at the context of when this photo was taken, there’s nothing particularly striking or complex about the piece itself. On a family vacation to one of my absolute favorite places, I took note of the rich blue hues that painted the port in the early evening and wanted to capture the moment, freeze it, and keep it treasured as a photographed memory. Although there isn’t any deeper symbolic meaning to the photograph itself, looking at the placid boats, the vague residue of the sunset in the distance, and the clouded reflection of the quaint houses on the water, I can’t help but find joy in the simplicity of the setting and the nostalgia that comes with it.
